Styling tips for a wedding guest – What to wear

Dress – InTheStyle

This weekend my secondary school friend got married!! I only attended the reception so I thought it was a good chance to share with you how I would dress for a wedding party. This kind of outfit can be good for races, parties and other events, it is smart but also casual. This is a perfect post if you are struggling on what to wear as I am going to go through a couple of tips that will help you feel stylish.

On a lot of websites there are a specific ‘occasion wear’ section where you can find perfect dresses for wedding parties. This is where I found this stunning dress on InTheStyle. The style of dress for a wedding party should be either short, midi or long and flowy. Although this dress is a little short, the patterns is beautiful and makes up for how small it is. You should look feminine and pretty, in a floral or pastel pattern. That is my number one style tip for a wedding reception.

Colour is obviously extremely important. I fall in love with pretty patterns and pastel colours, which is perfect for a wedding. I think wearing a bright colour is essential.

I think that wearing your hair naturally is perfect for a wedding. Letting it flow like beach waves, or having curls makes you look cute and girly. I also think that plaits are perfect.

By beauty I mean make up. At a wedding you expect to show a very natural look so wearing having make up can be a bit too much. Just a bit of foundation, a bright eyeshadow to make your eyes pop and a load of mascara can be enough. Natural is best.

This dress is amazing! When I saw it on InTheStyle I fell so in love. It will be so perfect for the Summer.

4 instant confident boosters this Valentines Day

Primark Bralette // Kylie Jenner Lip Kit – Mary Jo // Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula – Natural Bronze // Gucci Bamboo Perfume

Everybody wants to feel their best this Valentines Day. Whether you are alone or with your loved one, these 4 instant confidence boosters are the top tips to make you feel ready.

Nice underwear on valentines day is ALWAYS a must. Again whether you are with you boyfriend or you are alone, wearing pretty, matching underwear will always make you feel 100 times more confident. When I am wearing matching underwear in the morning, I feel like I am ready to face the day.

These perfect Valentines Day undies are from Primark. Very cheap, very comfortable yet they always look amazing. Red is the best colour to wear as this colour instantly makes you feel sexy.

Wearing red lipstick will instantly make you feel powerful. My Kylie Jenner Lip Kit is my favourite red lipstick as it is one I do not wear often, but when I do it makes a statement.

Red is the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, war, danger, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Red is a very emotionally intense color. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure.

Being tanned in the Summer is the most amazing feeling. Your skin is glowing and you look naturally gorgeous so obviously this is a massive confidence booster. Obviously in England at the moment you will not be getting a tan. So I use a natural bronze body lotion.

Palmers: Cocoa Butter Formula – Natural Bronze Body Lotion

For Christmas my boyfriend bought me a new amazing perfume. It is Gucci Bamboo. Smelling amazing is a huge part of feeling confident because as you must all notice, when you forget to put you deodorant on in the morning, or forget to spray your favourite perfume, you feel an instant insecurity. So remember, overload yourself with perfume and re – do your shower routine and you will feel ready for valentines day!

Have a happy Valentines Day! What do you do to make yourself feel confident?

My Autumn Wardrobe Wishlist

red-balloon-sleeve-ribbed-jumperThe best thing about Autumn has to be the oversized woolly jumpers. The air suddenly gets extremely cold, it is always dark and all you want to do is be snuggled up all day everyday. So a woolly jumper is an essential. This is my favourite jumper I have found. The colour is a dark read which fits in with the season. I love colours like red, orange and especially dark green, so this is the best time of the year to make the most of wearing them. This jumper is from New Look and is only £19.99. Definitely worth the buy!

TS02M06MBLK_Zoom_F_1Autumn and Winter are the months of comfort while also staying fashionable. Mom jeans are a must. I have found this pair on the Topshop website which just remind me of Autumn because of the beautiful flower pattern down the side of the leg. I know Topshop is extremely pricey for a student, this pair cost £55. There are many cheaper clothes shops that will sell mom jeans as well.

Although the air is very cold, in the Autumn you can still get away with wearing dresses/skirts as long as you layer up on your top half. You definitely need to make the most out of getting you tanned legs out from the Summer before they are put away again for another 7 months! This dress is so stunning, it would be lush for a dinner out or a weekend away. Even layered with a baggy, woolly jumper. It is from Misguided and only costs £35.00.

Biker jackets are very in fashion at the moment. This is one that caught my eye on Zara but it is £95.00 –  a poor student like myself can’t afford that! But I have seen other coats very similar in places such as Primark! This is a perfect jacket for Autumn but as it is the colour ‘ice’ it will also be very good for the winter!

In the top photograph I am wearing my amazing furry jacket that I bought from Primark, only £20. It is very warm and the perfect colour for the Autumn. It is also a good price for students like myself!

I hope this is a good inspiration for all you fashionistas out there, if you enjoy posts like these comment bellow. I will be doing them a lot more often.

Cross bodysuit, funky trousers & a glass of rose

This is the outfit I wore for Bedlam, the event I attended in Bournemouth at the O2 on Saturday with my friends. It was a good outfit to wear as inside the venue it got very hot and it was also very comfortable to dance in.

Cross Bodysuit – BooHoo

Trousers – Pretty Little Thing
Unfortunately this bodysuit that I wore is not in stock anymore, so I have found these two which are extremely similar. The first one is from BooHoo and the second is from MissGuided.

Thank you to my flat mate Katie for being my personal photographer.

Tuesday – 09.05.17

Today for me was a catch up day. A day where I can prepare myself for the rest of the week, lye in, exercise and do more of the remainder of my coursework. Instead I found myself in the sunshine and out shopping for skin care products. It must of been around 15 degrees and I walked around town as if it was a lot hotter. I love days like these as it is a time I can spend on my own, doing things for myself. I bathed, went to the gym, completed a whole assignment, sunbathed and now I have even found myself blogging! I believe that everybody should have a day like this, a day to re coop themselves. Un – usually, mine is on a Tuesday this week. This is due to me being at work and college from here onwards and over the weekend.

This is the first time I have worn this blue striped dress since I have bought it. When I purchased it I did not try it on as it was such a bargain and is something I have been looking for, for a while. It is just a simple summer dress, that for me comes just above the knee. It is a v – cut around the neck which I am not too keen on, but if you place a nice necklace there can be easily sorted. All these photos are taken at my house.

As I was saying to my mum earlier, it does not matter how much you spend on your clothing it is what you feel pretty and comfortable in. My mum has been looking for a dress to wear to a couple of weddings in the summer and spent £140 on a dress that she hated on. Then went to M & S and spent £20 on a dress she felt amazing in. Nobody would of thought that the outfit I was wearing was such a bargain. I hope you all had a nice day in the sun.
