mulled cider, curry & a catch up

The Thursday before Christmas I spent the evening sigh my Secondary school best friends who I haven’t seen in 3 months. We got a Saffrons Curry (I didn’t but I ate everyone’s left overs) and drank mulled wine all evening. This is our annual meet up which we have every Easter, Summer and Christmas as all of us are spending our terms doing completely different things. Many of us are at University, some are travelling or working and one of our friends is even getting married, how crazy!

Hope you have all been able to catch up with old friends this Christmas!

Saturday 23rd Decemeber

On the Eve of Christmas Eve, 27 of us went for a massive Christmas meal at The Crown, in Catcott. Before we went all the girls came to mine for a couple of drinks where I made my own Christmas cocktail to start the night.

  • Lime Vodka – Nearly the whole bottle
  • A whole lemon, sliced
  • Cranberry Juice
  • Orange Juice

I guessed all the ingredients that I put in this cocktail and it turned out to be really nice, it also made me a bit tipsy.

The meal was so nice, we all had a quick dinner before going over to Wheterspoons and staying out for more drinks. Was an amazing way to feel festive!

boyfriend in bournemouth

A weekend away with my boyfriend

Although I spent a lot of last week at home, I thought it would be a good idea for Solly to come to Bournemouth and visit me for the weekend. He caught the train up Saturday morning and arrived at around 1:00PM. I picked him up from the train station which is just a 5 minute walk from my accommodation, then we came back and watched a film and had a bit of lunch.

At around 4:30PM we got the bus into town where we walked around the Christmas market, looked in a couple of shops and then stopped to have a drink. The next available slot to go ice skating wasn’t until around 8:00PM, so we had a long wait. Ice skating was so funny, the whole set up in Bournemouth gardens is so beautiful and festive. For dinner we got a TGI Fridays which neither of us have ever had before. I got a lush cheese burger with sweet potato fries, where as so got a steak and ribs. TGI Fridays is Sollys ideal restaurant.

Because we started drinking so early, we made an impulsive decision to go on a night out with my girl friends. But by the time it got down to actually going we were completely sober, yet we went to show our faces which I am glad we did. Sasas and Nicky Blackmarket were playing at The Old Firestation and we found 2 tickets for £5.

The next day we had a nice lye in and I cooked him up a big full English breakfast, before we went back down into the Christmas Markets for the afternoon. Sol then got the train home at 4:30PM and I won’t see him again until I am home for Christmas.

Family in Bournemouth | The Stable Restaurant

On Tuesday evening, my mum and sister drove down to Bournemouth from home so Alice could join me on a night out at Toast Tuesdays. She arrived to my accommodation at around 6:30, I gathered all my Uni girls together for pre drinks and we had the best night!

The next day mum picked us up from my accommodation and we went for lunch at The Stables Restaurant. They sell dishes such as thin pizzas, pies, wraps and big salads. All 3 of us got the pizzas and they were lush. I love thin pizzas because they don’t fill you up to much, so it meant were able to do a bit of shopping before I went back to my halls. Luckily I have found a lot of my Christmas presents which I am going to shop for on Black Friday.

I really love it when any of my friends and family  come to visit me, although I am home a lot it is still so nice to take them around Bournemouth. It is definitely somewhere I can see myself living in the future, or even a big city.

Siam Water Park

Tuesday 5th September

Going to Siam Park was Solly’s highlight of our whole holiday. He pre – booked the tickets and even got fast track! If you are ever in Tenerife you must go to this water park, whether you enjoy going down slides or not it will definitely be an amazing day out. The scenery is incredible and so is the atmosphere.

Mini Golf & Pizza | Puerto De La Cruz

On our 3rd night, instead of having dinner and a drink in the hotel we went to a mini golf club which was a 10 minute walk away. You start by playing a game of mini golf and then you sit down and have a huge pizza. I had a calzone pizza and solly got BBQ chicken. It was a very fun evening.

As you can see from the photos it was a beautiful setting. The whole course was set around a small water fountain and the place was full of lots of lovely plants.

Puerto De La Cruz | Tenirife

A week in Tenerife with my boyfriend!

So I have just arrived home from being away in Tenerife with my boyfriend, Solly. We stayed in North Tenerife in a place called Puerto De La Cruz. Unfortunately we did not do our research before going away so we weren’t to pleased with where we were staying because there was never any sun. We stayed in a hotel called Taoro Garden Hotel which was based right at the top of a huge hill, but 5 minutes walk from the town. The hotel was lovely, the customer service was great, the food was very good but it just was not very hot. When we thought of going away we expected it to be boiling it was just very humid.

Although there was not much sun in the North we were able to spend a couple of days in the South of Tenerife, which you will find out about in my next few blog posts!

It is actually Sollys 20th birthday tomorrow!!

Font Magica de Montjuic – The Magic Fountain

The last night in Barcelona!

For our last evening in Barcelona we went to watch the Magic Fountain. I did not have a clue that this organisation was going on but it makes you feel like you are in a magical county. Especially after everything that has been going on. We went and got a cheap dinner at a fast food place, sat on the steps and looked over the view. After we watched the Magic Fountain, we got a taxi back to our hotel and had a slightly earlier night before getting up for our early flight home.

Dress – Brandy Melville

I bought this dress while shopping in the old town. It was my mums little treat and I love it. I definitely fit in with the Spanish style.
