Barolo Restaurant and Slug & Lettuce
This weekend my boyfriend Solly came to visit me in Bournemouth and see my new house. He arrived pretty late on the Saturday because I woke up early afternoon as I worked late the night before. As soon as he got here we just chilled, drank tea and watch rubbish TV.
In the evening we went to a lovely Italian restaurant on Winton high street, which is only a 5 minute walk from my house. We weren’t able to get a table there until 9:30PM so we went to the Conto Lounge from a drink first. I bought a expresso martini which was gross!! They only added the coffee and vodka, not any syrup or sugar! I was very disappointed, but then I got my pina colada and was happy again. The Italian restaurant was called Barolo and it was so nice. It was extremely lively and packed with people all evening. I had calamari to begin with and then a chorizo, mushroom, tomato pasta as a main, it was lush!! For desert we shared a vanilla cheesecake, my favourite.
Family in Bournemouth | The Stable Restaurant
An evening in Leisture Square | M&M World & Jamie Olivers Diner
Lago Martianez | Puerto De La Cruz
By the time our meal had finished it was around 11:30PM so we just headed home.
On the Sunday we woke up and had a chilled morning. I hadn’t been in to Bournemouth town in the day time since I have been back for second year, so it was nice to spend the afternoon shopping with Solly and sat having an ice cream by the beach. For lunch we went to Slug & Lettuce which I LOVE. I think the place is so funky and serves great food. I had an avocado, halloumi and tomato sandwich with sweet potato fries.
After spending the afternoon in town, we headed back to mine and watch ‘The Other Guys’ before Sol headed home at 7:00PM.
Happy weekend everybody!! Have the best week.
In Malaga instead of staying in a hotel, we booked out a huge villa for 20 people on Home and Away and it had it all. We couldn’t of asked for more. It had a hot tub, bed outside, our own pool with a slide, a balcony with a BBQ, a bar and so much more. The only thing we didn’t have was any clubs or shops near by. Technically we weren’t in Malaga, we were right on the out skirts and to get into the centre cost 30 euros – that is where all our money went!!
Getting a villa was the best idea because we could do whatever we wanted, we could wake up, make breakfast and just chill. Because we were in the middle of nowhere we had no noise complaints which was perfect.
If you ever need to book a holiday, go through Home and Away. It is a great service!!
I am officially back at University in Bournemouth and trying to enjoy freshers. I am so ready just to start lectures now, waking up in the morning with nothing to do gets extremely boring!!
SOLLYS 21ST BIRTHDAY
On Sunday 9th September my boyfriend Solly turned 21!!! We got back from our group holiday early Friday morning, so instead of everyone having to make the effort to go on a big night out with absolutely no money left, Sols mum and sister thought it would be an amazing idea to throw him a surprise birthday party. Solly absolutely hates being the centre of attention so everybody was worried he would hate it. I woke up at Sollys house Saturday morning and had to rush him our of the house for the whole day, it was very hard! I dragged him around the high street for a very long time before keeping him hostage at my house until nearly 7. All of our friends kept ringing him, playing up to the surprise party and asking him what we should do to celebrate his birthday. The whole day was so hard because I could not tell him what is going on at his house and Sol begun to think that nobody really cared about celebrating it with him.
At 7:00PM I took Sols to his house to “get changed” before we “went to the pub and watched the football.” Little did he know that when he walked through the back door all his friends and family were singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him. It was all worth it.
In the end he absolutely loved it and we all had an amazing evening.
For Sols 21st I am taking him to Rome at Christmas!! He was spoilt!!
I love you lots Sol, happy birthday!
Camping in the New Forest, Dorset
I would massively recommend a weekend away at the New Forest. It is very relaxing and a lot of fun. The place is filled with horses, on the first morning a shetland pony came charging at us for our food! Although there is not that much to do around us bar cycling and long walks it is a very pretty area. I would go back again!
Bag – SHEIN (buy here)
Solly and I were not able to go on a holiday this year due to him being super busy with work and us both having so many other things planned, so we thought we should spend a weekend in a tent instead. We have now both spent 2 weekends in a row in a tent, the first weekend being in a smelly, muddy field with lots of other people to the second weekend doing it properly. We borrowed my mums Glastonbury Festival tent that has one pod with a huge middle bit to keep all of our stuff in. We bought a gas cooker to make ourselves cups of tea and breakfast every morning, I stocked us up on food and beer and made our sleeping area extremely snug.
Weekend In Bournemouth
Weekend in Watford
On Friday evening Sol did not finish work until 6:30PM so we did not get to the campsite until it was pitch black. Putting the tent up in the dark was a struggle, especially when we had people taking the micky out of us when they walked passed.
On Saturday we had a long morning, relaxing outside the tent and trying to figure out how to cook some sausages without burning them. In the afternoon we went to Hurst Castle which is Henry VIII castle, a prison of Charles and a World War 2 theatre. To get to it we either had to get a ferry or walk for a couple miles along the sea front. Stupidly we decided to walk, forgetting how windy it would be being right by the seaside, but when we got there we were glad we visited. Solly loves things like this.
In the evening we went for dinner at The Snake Catcher which was not amazing. I got whitebait to start and before I had even finished they bought out my burger. It seemed like they were in a massive rush, but I did hear that they had been packed all day. On Sunday we went to Christchurch Harbour which I loved!! It was so cute, people were crabbing, paddle boarding and it was filled with lots of boats. Thankfully it was actually sunny so we were able to sit on the rocks and eat fish and chips.
I am getting my disposable cameras printed of today and I can not wait to share with you the craziness of Boomtown, bits of London and some cute pictures from camping. Disposable camera photos are my favourite, they look so nice when they are printed out. Was thinking of carrying one around all the time so I can hang the photos up in my University room!
