BODY CONFIDENCE

In this post I want to talk about body confidence. This has been a big subject for me since a young age, I have never felt completely comfortable in my skin. Especially as I am surrounded by beautiful, skinny friends, which is not a bad thing they are all stunning, but obviously it can be daunting on you confidence in any type of way. I have always felt the biggest. I was always the tallest in my year, big boobs, big bum, big belly. But since making a few simple changes over the past few years (especially recently) I have gained a whole lot of self worth and appreciation for my body.

1.DO NOT COMPARE YOUR BODY

This is my biggest pointer to when gaining a lot more body confidence. You don’t want to be like all these girls on social media because lets face it, it is not real life. How many times have you pretending to laugh or overly editing a photograph? Because believe me, we all do the same. You have got to learn to love yourself for who you are. There will always be someone who is ‘seemingly’ better than you! What you see as a ‘good body’ other people might not, everyone is different and everybody is special. Who knows, to somebody else, your body may be perfect.

“The reason why we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind the scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel”

2. WELL BEING

A lot of people forget that confidence comes with well being.Getting enough rest, eating the right foods and exercising is very important. Move more, eat better, not less, drink more water and sleep more. Stress is also very bad for your body, taking time out of work to do what you love and destress yourself will automatically make yourself feel more confident. Stress is a big one for me, because I can be a massive stress head, but when I come to realise that stress will get me know where it will automatically make me happier.

3. LOVE

We as humans, often focus on what we hate about ourselves rather than what we love, causing us to beat ourselves down but we do not give our bodies enough credit. The things that we will want to change about ourselves others would die for and same the other way round. Are we just being critical and putting ourselves under to much pressure to look a certain way? It is very easy for our mind to play tricks on us but as soon as you realise, you will feel a lot more positive about your body.

4. TAN & HYDRATE

Nothing will make you feel more confident that having a perfect tan and hydrating skin. First of all obviously drink more water. Water is the most natural way to clear your skin. Secondly, use your favourite body moisture and apply it every morning. I get so much more confidence when my body is glowing. Thirdly, I use Bondi Sands – Dark, to keep my skin in the Summer season all year round. Honestly, when I apply fake tan to my skin I feel so much more body confident. I don’t know whether it is just me, but I instantly feel more toned and glowing.

5. STAYING FIT

When I am feeling run down, the way for me to boost my confidence is to hit the gym. I have got extremely into CrossFit recently and it is making me feel super confident. It makes me super relaxed and energetic, I think this is my top tip to being body confident.

MR & MRS | Just Married

#HELPUSBECOMETHECLARKS

On Saturday, my friend Lucy from secondary school tied the knot, crazy! The first wedding of our generation and what an amazing evening, I want to do it again. It was like a little ruin for all of my school friend, filled with pims, laughter and lots of dancing.

It was taken place in a village hall near me and I know how that must sound, but it was done up so beautifully. The amount of work and effort put into just one day was incredible. She draped white material across the ceiling as if we were inside a marque, with flower, lights and lots of decoration.

I just cannot wait for the next wedding now, what a beautiful evening!

Styling tips for a wedding guest – What to wear

Dress – InTheStyle

This weekend my secondary school friend got married!! I only attended the reception so I thought it was a good chance to share with you how I would dress for a wedding party. This kind of outfit can be good for races, parties and other events, it is smart but also casual. This is a perfect post if you are struggling on what to wear as I am going to go through a couple of tips that will help you feel stylish.

STYLE

On a lot of websites there are a specific ‘occasion wear’ section where you can find perfect dresses for wedding parties. This is where I found this stunning dress on InTheStyle. The style of dress for a wedding party should be either short, midi or long and flowy. Although this dress is a little short, the patterns is beautiful and makes up for how small it is. You should look feminine and pretty, in a floral or pastel pattern. That is my number one style tip for a wedding reception.

COLOUR

Colour is obviously extremely important. I fall in love with pretty patterns and pastel colours, which is perfect for a wedding. I think wearing a bright colour is essential.

HAIR

I think that wearing your hair naturally is perfect for a wedding. Letting it flow like beach waves, or having curls makes you look cute and girly. I also think that plaits are perfect.

BEAUTY

By beauty I mean make up. At a wedding you expect to show a very natural look so wearing having make up can be a bit too much. Just a bit of foundation, a bright eyeshadow to make your eyes pop and a load of mascara can be enough. Natural is best.

This dress is amazing! When I saw it on InTheStyle I fell so in love. It will be so perfect for the Summer.

OUTFIT OF THE NIGHT | OOTD + A NIGHT OUT IN BRISTOL

On Saturday night I went out in Bristol for my friend Chloe’s 19th birthday so I thought it would be a good idea to share with you all what I wore. I decided on something completely different for this night out as I am trying to expand on the things I wear.

This Multi Coloured, Poker Dot, flowy dress is from TopShop and I bought it while I was shopping with my brother Jack in Taunton the other day. I liked this style of dress as I thought it would be perfect for the Summer and it is something completely different. It was on £26 and for TopShop I thought that was amazing so I did not have a choice but to buy it. I wore this with my White Nike Air Force trainers as the club is not dressy at all and I wore a leather jacket on top.

For Chloes birthday we got a mini bus (well a coach) to SWX in Bristol. I have never been there before so it was a good change and a nice way to spend the bank holiday weekend. Especially as we were with everyone.

I spent Easter Sunday this year working at my old pub as they needed help so my Easter this year was not too exciting, how has your weekend been?
