christmas at orange road

THE PERFECT SUNDAY

On Sunday, the house made a roast dinner as a way to end the weekend and to celebrate semester one. How quickly has the time gone? Today Ellie went home for Christmas, Mads is travelling home and Katie and I are going home on Friday, leaving our cute, little house behind for nearly a month. This week I am keeping myself very busy – tomorrow I am going to watch Mabel, spending wednesday at a Christmas market and thursday I have my last lectures of the year, then Katie and I are going for food!! This weekend I am off to Birmingham to visit my sister, then drive her home for Christmas!

Who is excited for Christmas? I honestly cannot wait to get home to my friends and family. In just over 2 weeks I am off to Rome.

Malaga 2018

On one of our last evenings in Malaga we thought it would be nice to go for a big family meal. We travelled over to Fueungirola for the first time since being there. We had been told it was somewhere to definitely visit as it was full of life and youth. In Malaga centre, we found that the clubs were very small and there was not much to do in the evenings. Where as Fuengirola was the place we had been hoping for the whole time we were there!

Our meal was so lovely. We went to this open restaurant where we were all able to sit outside. This my favourite evening of the whole holiday, everyone was happy and having so much fun.

MALAGA 2018

In Malaga instead of staying in a hotel, we booked out a huge villa for 20 people on Home and Away and it had it all. We couldn’t of asked for more. It had a hot tub, bed outside, our own pool with a slide, a balcony with a BBQ, a bar and so much more. The only thing we didn’t have was any clubs or shops near by. Technically we weren’t in Malaga, we were right on the out skirts and to get into the centre cost 30 euros – that is where all our money went!!

Getting a villa was the best idea because we could do whatever we wanted, we could wake up, make breakfast and just chill. Because we were in the middle of nowhere we had no noise complaints which was perfect.

If you ever need to book a holiday, go through Home and Away. It is a great service!!

I am officially back at University in Bournemouth and trying to enjoy freshers. I am so ready just to start lectures now, waking up in the morning with nothing to do gets extremely boring!!

a surprise party

SOLLYS 21ST BIRTHDAY

On Sunday 9th September my boyfriend Solly turned 21!!! We got back from our group holiday early Friday morning, so instead of everyone having to make the effort to go on a big night out with absolutely no money left, Sols mum and sister thought it would be an amazing idea to throw him a surprise birthday party. Solly absolutely hates being the centre of attention so everybody was worried he would hate it. I woke up at Sollys house Saturday morning and had to rush him our of the house for the whole day, it was very hard! I dragged him around the high street for a very long time before keeping him hostage at my house until nearly 7. All of our friends kept ringing him, playing up to the surprise party and asking him what we should do to celebrate his birthday. The whole day was so hard because I could not tell him what is going on at his house and Sol begun to think that nobody really cared about celebrating it with him.

At 7:00PM I took Sols to his house to “get changed” before we “went to the pub and watched the football.” Little did he know that when he walked through the back door all his friends and family were singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him. It was all worth it.

In the end he absolutely loved it and we all had an amazing evening.

For Sols 21st I am taking him to Rome at Christmas!! He was spoilt!!

I love you lots Sol, happy birthday!

5 things I would tell myself as a fresher

PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE

University is the start of a whole new adventure and if I could change the way I went into freshers week is to of put myself out there. By that I mean get involved in everything. Freshers fairs, flat parties or even just sitting with your flat mates, you always want to make a good first impression and not miss out on anything. Starting University is very difficult, you are suddenly on your own in this tiny bedroom with nobody you know. It is a lot. But putting yourself out there will help with the loneliness and open so many more doors for the rest of the year.

THE PEOPLE YOU FIRST MEET WILL NOT NECESSARILY BE THE PEOPLE YOU HANG OUT WITH ALL YEAR

This is something that I really struggled with. I basically moved into my halls a day late so everybody had already had a night out together, leaving me feeling extremely left out. But i seriously tried my hardest to get involved with everybody but the people I hung out with through freshers (apart from Katie) just were not my kind of people. They were lush and sweet don’t get me wrong but extremely cliquey and coming in a day late it seemed as if they did not have the time of day for me. I got really upset that I was not going to make anymore friends but I was lucky enough to through out the year of met the best girls and boys I know. DO not think you won’t meet anyone else, because you will. You have all year to make best friends.

DON’T ARGUE WITH YOUR FLAT MATES

Unfortunately through out my first year at University my flat mates began to argue with each other due to nobody having my respect for people things. I learnt through the year to just not get involved, when somebody has something wrong wit somebody else, lend an ear but maybe not an opinion. You are living with these people for the whole year so to make it easier get on with everybody even if you don’t agree with what they do. You begin to realise that everybody is completely different so respect each other.

PUT LESS PRESSURE ON YOURSELF

Freshers is bigged up massively whether you are a student or not, this is what University is known for. A whole week of clubbing, socialising and drinking, but this could be new to some people. All I am saying is don’t put pressure on yourself to live up the the freshers expectations. The build up to freshers is huge but it is not the make or break of University life. If you miss a couple of nights out it is not the end of the world, you will be going out socialising for the whole year, so there is no rush to meet lots of people.

MAKE UNIVERSITY YOUR HOME

Because I have a boyfriend and lots of very close friends at home I spent a lot of my weekends travelling back to hang out with them, but although I don’t regret it I wish I made my halls more like my home. Although I was comfortable in my room, I wasn’t that comfortable in my flat. My top tip is to spend as much time there as possible because before you know it you will be back home again for the Summer, and let me tell you know… I am bored!! I can’t wait to go back.

Good luck to all you first years, I am jealous of you all! First year is the best!!

just keep going

My cute new top from ASOS, I love tie front tops at the moment. This one is extremely summery but the sleeves are quite tight. If anything I would get it a size bigger like the model on ASOS.

A Glastonbury lunch with my lovely friend Chloe, we always save some time for a catch up whether that is food, a coffee or even a gym session. She is a big fitness freak and a huge inspiration, you should follow her instagram!

A pint in Weston Super – Mere after a quick sun bed. I have only ever had 2 sun beds and that was just before Boomtown because I wanted to look tanned, I would never get them on a regular. My friend Chloe here loves them!! (this is a different Chloe)

Boomtown in the rain with my bestie. I love this photo I find it so funny that we are absolutely soaked but still having the time of our lives. P.s. I lost this pink jumper on the Saturday night 😦 heartbreaking!!

A Prezzo lunch to celebrate my sisters A – Level results, A*AA – how amazing!! Alice and my brother Jack are both off to University this year, Birmingham and Exeter.

My brother coming home for the weekend after his 1st week out of 4 of his pre season rugby training in Exeter.

A quick trip to the garden centre with my mum, trying to get University room inspiration. I want to cover the whole room in picture, pretty colours and lots of plants! But how do I do that on a budget?

I am not going to lie but at the moment I am extremely bored. Being home for such a long time with not many shifts at work is becoming very hard haha! I am the type of person who needs to be busy all the time. And when all my friends and boyfriend work Monday – Friday and I work weekends it is pretty hard to fill up my days. Yes I am writing lots of blog posts, going to crossfit and catching up with friends but I am also so ready to get back to University. I want routine, I want to get a part time job and I want to get back to being busy 24/7.

But today is my last shift before spending bank holiday weekend with everybody. I then only have 1 week before we all jet off to Malaga!! I have an exciting month and I cannot wait!!

When is everyone else heading back to Uni?

Parasailing

On Tuesday 7th August my whole family went over to The Pig near Bath where my parents were staying for the night to celebrate my Mums birthday. It was an extremely posh farm hotel with all 100% organic food. I ate a lot of fish, squid for a starter and plaice as a main.

The restaurant is completely in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields and a gorgeous garden. My parents are completely living the high life at the moment going from hotel to hotel with my dads work.
