keeping my skin clear through freshers

My house mates ❤

As everybody knows, freshers is filled with non stop drinking and eating crap, but I was determined to not let that effect my skin as it has been extremely clear over the Summer. As the temperature has dropped, my legs and arms have become very dry, so I have been moisturising near enough everyday after my shower. This is also to try my best to keep my tan!

Say goodbye to dry skin & hair this time of year

I HATE BLACKHEADS – 2 PRODUCTS THAT REDUCED MY BLACKHEADS FAST

EXFOLIATE

Neutrogena – Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating

At the moment I am using my favourite blackhead eliminator to exfoliate my skin. When I am drinking a lot of alcohol my skin breaks out in spots due to the amount of sugar and lack of water.

TONER

L’oreal Paris – Age perfect Micellar Water

This toner does not just keep your skin hydrated by removes your make up easily after a night out. It cleanses your skin, keeping it feeling smooth and hydrated. I prefer to use this than ordinary make up remover.

SUNSHINE

I know the weather in England has not been great over the past couple of weeks, but when the sun is out always try to make the most of it. Although it is cold, sunshine is so good for your skin. It will keep it clear and bronzed due to it triggering the synthesis of vitamin D in your body and causes the cells to travel to the outer layers. This means that the skin is able to protect and repair your skin.

LOTS OF WATER

When I am at University I find it such a challenge to fill my body with water, I don’t know why? Maybe its because I don’t like the tap water or spending money on it but my new trick it to put a filled up bottle of water into the fridge over night so it is ready for me to take to Uni in the morning. Water is so important, especially for your skin and body throughout freshers.

GREEN TEA

GREEN TEA is my new trick, it gives your skin a special glow and keeps you from getting ill throughout freshers. I try to have a big mug of green tea before I go to bed to settle my body. It is the healthiest drink on the planet as it is filled with antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on your body. It is not just good for your skin but good for fat loss, the function of the brain and will improve health benefits.

I hope you have all had a fun freshers and are ready to get stuck into University, Freshers flu is a killer and if I am honest I don’t know why they call it freshers flu, once you have it you will have it for the whole year. Happy Tuesday!!

5 things I would tell myself as a fresher

PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE

University is the start of a whole new adventure and if I could change the way I went into freshers week is to of put myself out there. By that I mean get involved in everything. Freshers fairs, flat parties or even just sitting with your flat mates, you always want to make a good first impression and not miss out on anything. Starting University is very difficult, you are suddenly on your own in this tiny bedroom with nobody you know. It is a lot. But putting yourself out there will help with the loneliness and open so many more doors for the rest of the year.

THE PEOPLE YOU FIRST MEET WILL NOT NECESSARILY BE THE PEOPLE YOU HANG OUT WITH ALL YEAR

This is something that I really struggled with. I basically moved into my halls a day late so everybody had already had a night out together, leaving me feeling extremely left out. But i seriously tried my hardest to get involved with everybody but the people I hung out with through freshers (apart from Katie) just were not my kind of people. They were lush and sweet don’t get me wrong but extremely cliquey and coming in a day late it seemed as if they did not have the time of day for me. I got really upset that I was not going to make anymore friends but I was lucky enough to through out the year of met the best girls and boys I know. DO not think you won’t meet anyone else, because you will. You have all year to make best friends.

DON’T ARGUE WITH YOUR FLAT MATES

Unfortunately through out my first year at University my flat mates began to argue with each other due to nobody having my respect for people things. I learnt through the year to just not get involved, when somebody has something wrong wit somebody else, lend an ear but maybe not an opinion. You are living with these people for the whole year so to make it easier get on with everybody even if you don’t agree with what they do. You begin to realise that everybody is completely different so respect each other.

PUT LESS PRESSURE ON YOURSELF

Freshers is bigged up massively whether you are a student or not, this is what University is known for. A whole week of clubbing, socialising and drinking, but this could be new to some people. All I am saying is don’t put pressure on yourself to live up the the freshers expectations. The build up to freshers is huge but it is not the make or break of University life. If you miss a couple of nights out it is not the end of the world, you will be going out socialising for the whole year, so there is no rush to meet lots of people.

MAKE UNIVERSITY YOUR HOME

Because I have a boyfriend and lots of very close friends at home I spent a lot of my weekends travelling back to hang out with them, but although I don’t regret it I wish I made my halls more like my home. Although I was comfortable in my room, I wasn’t that comfortable in my flat. My top tip is to spend as much time there as possible because before you know it you will be back home again for the Summer, and let me tell you know… I am bored!! I can’t wait to go back.

Good luck to all you first years, I am jealous of you all! First year is the best!!
