A LITTLE CHRISTMAS TRIP TO ROME

when in rome…

A Tapa Tapa Evening in Barcelona

Zugspitze Mountain

Here comes my non – stop pics of Solly and I’s trip to Rome. As I have said I took 3 different cameras –  my phone, Olympus Pen Canon camera and a Canon film camera (which I haven’t been able to get processed yet) so I have a lot of content to share with you.

Sol and I only spent 3 nights in Rome, with only around 2 full days to fit in all the sites. When I say all the sites… there is soooo much to see! On the first day we did a hop on hop off bus all around Rome, just to get our bearings. The first stop was the colosseum which is was Sollys main site to see. We decided to get skip the queue and a tour, just because this is one of the main sites in Rome and yes it was so worth it! If you haven’t been, the colosseum is incredible and so much bigger than I imagined.

These are not just photographs from day one, but a collection of some of my favourites. We stuffed our face with pasta, pizza and a little trick for anybody going to a busy city, walk down the back streets… you will find a lot of cheap food and cute little restaurants. Solly and I used an app called ‘YELP’ to help us find the best places to eat and drink.

This was such an amazing experience for Sol and I but I can honestly say it has given me a travel bug, I WANT TO BE ABROAD 24/7 to the point my friend Kimia and I are organising a cheap trip to Berlin at the end of January, to celebrate the end of a stressful month. Where would you like to visit in the EU?

ROME 2018

Today, Sol and I arrived home from 3 nights in Rome. I decided to take Sols to Rome for his 21st birthday and Christmas present, in between Christmas and New Years as it is an age to celebrate and when you are nearly 5 years in there are not any more jumpers or perfumes I could buy him. Rome is a very exciting city – I couldn’t even begin to describe how busy we have been. From the Colosseum to the Vatican to the Trevi Fountain, there is not enough time in the day to see everything. BUT… we did it. In just 2 full days we saw everything we wanted too.

City of Love

HOLA BARCELONA

Mini Golf & Pizza | Puerto De La Cruz

This is just the beginning of the amount of photos I have taken. I took my phone, my Canon camera and my dads old Canon film camera. I love the way film cameras come out and I am so excited to get them developed. Italy is a very beautiful country and hopefully I have captured it the best way I could.

So, after 4 days of pasta and pizza it is now New Years Eve. How quickly is time going? January is going to be a stressful month for me. From January the 1st it is time to give myself a kick up the bum. University comes first! I have waddled along for too long and I will be beating myself up if I don’t get my act together. That is not just with University, but also with money and my fitness. My only New Years resolution is to PRIORITISE – and this is with absolutely everything!

A sunset dinner & a day in Lisbon

Sunday 1st July

Dress – TopShop

As you would of seen in my post A beautiful day for a beautiful beach, my family and I stopped at a new restaurant, right on the sea front. So we thought one evening we should definitely show our support and check it out.

The whole restaurant is windows, making it extremely picturesque. The sun sets all around you while sipping on wine and eating beautiful food. I had a cod fish, which was battered, covered in onions, cheese and potato wedges. For me, the portion size was perfect but my family thought it was too small. It is a new restaurant which opened a couple days before we went there for dinner so nobody was expecting perfection, but I really enjoyed it!

Tuesday 3rd July

For the last day of our holiday we spent the afternoon in Lisbon. We had to be out of the villa by 10:00AM and were catching a flight home from Lisbon airport at 5:00PM, so spending the day in the city seemed like the best idea.

Personally, I absolutely loved Lisbon. it reminded me of being in Barcelona (my favourite city in the world.) There were people everywhere, restaurants throughout the streets and a lot of atmosphere.

By the time we had travelled and parked in Lisbon it was already 12:00PM, so the first thing we decided to do was EAT! As it was the last day of the holiday, I treated myself to an amazing hawaiian pizza. While waiting for the food I had a little peep in Zara because I needed to buy some clothes for work in London. Shopping in Lisbon is really good!!

After this we travelled to the airport, before flying back to England. What an amazing holiday!!

Easter Holidays | 5 ways to stay motivated/inspired

img_7556

Over the past 3 weeks I have really been trying to better myself. I have been getting up early, going to the gym, eating well and concentrating on my degree. I only have 6 weeks until my exam! STRESS!

Over the past month of University I went into a hole and was not being the best version of myself. Giving myself some time out has really helped me prioritise what is important. I want to stay motivated and inspired. This degree isn’t going to pass itself and this summer body is not going to build on its own. It is all down to me.

I have come up with a couple of pointers that will hopefully help you into a positive mindset.

Brunch with Solly at Kiver Court, Shepton Mallet

FIRST OF ALL – DO NOT COMPARE

Comparing yourselves to other people is a extremely de – motivating. I have struggled with this my whole life. Having gorgeous friends, social media and not feeling good enough. It has only taken me until now to realise that this is not good for me. Comparison will put all your focus on the wrong person and can take control of your life. A bit of competition is healthy but why should you waste your energy, concentrating on other peoples lives rather than your own.

Celebrate somebodies achievements, rather than be envious. Comparing your beginning to someone else middle or even end, will prevent you from truly enjoying your own success and achievements (Alexandra Coppadge.)

Yes, I know this is easier said than done but you have got to stay in your own lane and focus on your goals. Keep these people as an inspiration plus, the way social media portrays somebodies life may not always be real. I can promise you that the girl you think has a perfect life on instagram has stuff going on behind closed doors. Everybody does! You’re not alone.

“Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourselves to others”

SECONDLY – MAKE LISTS

I am a huge believer in the fact that making lists will help you achieve your goals. A lot of the time I will wake up in the morning and completely forget everything I wanted to accomplish that day. Writing a list will motivate you to get things done, especially when you can tick it off at the end of the day. You will have a feeling of relief and accomplishment.

Writing lists will help you priorities and this is something I find extremely difficult. Juggling my degree, fitness, blog, boyfriend and social life can be difficult sometimes. When I don’t prioritise i end up getting nothing done and regretting it by the end of the day. Obviously at my age socialising seems to be my top priority, but since being at University I have realised what is important.

Dinner at FireHouse, Curry Rivel with my primary school friends which I haven’t caught up with in a year

THIRDLY – REMOVE DISTRACTIONS

My biggest battle with motivation has to be my mobile. For some reason, sitting at my desk scrolling through Instagram is a lot more important than getting any of my work done. So obviously, to stay motivated you have to remove this distraction. TURN IT OFF.

LASTLY – SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE

I am lucky enough to have the best group of friends around me and I know how much it can inspire me. Being able to have some time out to smile and laugh rather than be stressed about what your friends is very important. Do not surround yourself with people who bring you down.

“Notice the people who are happy for you happiness and sad for your sadness”

I really do believe that surrounding yourself with positive people will inspire and motivate you. People who share your excitement when you are doing well, people with goals, dreams and are open minded and the best kind of friends. If someone does not support you, you have to question yourself if they are really a friend.

“You are responsible for your own happiness”
