STARY = STAY AWAY FROM WORRY

On Saturday I spent the afternoon at a Bournemouth Bloggers event with Stary Eyed. It is a new upcoming brand run by two lovely ladies called Gemma and Claire. They have been best friends for 25 years and decided to create a company with various products lifestyle and homeware based.

This SS19 collection showcase took place at a beautiful hotel in Southampton called HarBAR on 6th. It overlooked the harbour and a lot of Southampton which made the event that much more enjoyable.

The product they sell are extremely beautiful and you know they have been created with a lot of care. They gave us a set of stunning earring which resemble a star and space ship, in black. I have never owned plain black earring before so I am excited to wear them. We also got given their brands statement t-shirt which is two red stars covering the boobs, haha! Yasmine, Tia and I are going to take photographs in them.

Another amazing event organised by Bournemouth Bloggers.

AN AMAZING VEGAN BRUNCH

For my latest University project I had to create a news feature about anything I wanted, so I decided to create one about ‘The Explosion of Vegansim.’ To do this I had to visit different vegan restaurant and gather different opinions.

Katie and I went to ‘Mad Cucumber’ at the top of Bournemouth town for brunch. As you can see from the bottom photograph it was delicious. For lent, Katie and I have given up meat which I am currently struggling with as I am going out for Thai food this evening, haha! On my birthday I did eat a little bit of meat (because it was my birthday) but I have never felt so bloated afterwards. Your body adapts extremely quickly.

This restaurant had a lot of Glastonbury vibes which made it extremely comfortable and friendly.

Its a Tuesday morning and I am sat at my desk looking out into the rainy street. How was it Summer 2 weeks ago? Through the heatwave I went to London for the day with my best friend Katie, as I had a placement interview with Jane Carr (which I got wooo!) The next day, Katie, Ellie and I sat at the beach in the evening and watch the sunset. It was so beautiful and as you can see it was the perfect golden hour.

These photos were taken on my Olympus Pen camera which I haven’t got out in a while, but after taking such stunning photographs I am definitely going to be taking it out more.

Tomorrow Katie and I have to get up at 4:00AM to work a full day at Cheltenham Ladies Day. I am half excited, half pooing myself as I know the people there will be big spenders and put a lot of pressure on us behind the bar. Although I am worried, the money I earn just from the one day will pay for my whole birthday weekend!! On Monday I am turning 21 – so old. I can not believe how quickly this has come around. I have got a full weekend of fun planned, but before then I have a big deadline on Friday. So a very stressful week for me, considering I have no motivation to do anything due to my excitement!!

the real eating company & lunchd collab!

Outfit: Dress – isawitfirst & top – Primark.

On Saturday afternoon, I was lucky enough to of been invited to a bloggers event at The Real Eating Company in Bournemouth. Little did I know, this cafe would be a hidden gem down a small back road on the high street. They are currently creating a collaboration with Lunch’d, to make delicious takeaway lunch boxes which are healthy, gluten and dairy free so that customers can grab it and go.

The 1st menu will feature:

MY PHAT GREEK BOX: Aubergine Moussaka & Quinoa Greek Salad with hummus & balsamic dressing (this is the box that the Bournemouth Bloggers got to try)

JERK CHICKEN BOX: Pulled Jerk Chick Roasted Sweet potato & Quinoa Super Salad with pomegranate seeds & lime. Served with seasonal slaw.

Helena Hudson, the owner of Real Eating Company says, “we are thrilled that Lunch’d is coming to the Real Eating Company Bournemouth. Oli creates and cooks really delicious healthy food and I can’t wait for our customers to try it. It’s also great to be able to offer this opportunity to a successful, smaller company when the cost of being on the high street is increasingly prohibitive.”  The Real Eating Company has had a site in Bournemouth for 4 years now, having been names ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at Dorset Food, Drink and Farming Awards. It is an independent business with a collection of food destinations in five towns in the South East – using local products whenever they can all day.

Oli Perron, founder of Lunch’d adds, “we’ve been approached before to white label for other cafe groups, but the opportunity to collaborate as a pop-up with The real Eating Company to showcase our new seasonal Hotboxes felt like a perfect match. We’ve been solely supplying offices since the first lunch in 2013, so this will be the first time non-office based customers can try us out.” Lunch’d was launched in 2014 providing healthy, gluten and dairy free meals including vegan options to companies across the county in a subscription basis and also caters for events.

This collaboration will start on the 5th March (TODAY) and will continue every Tuesday and Wednesday – customers can grab and go or dine in. Each box will be priced at £6.65.

Monday 2nd July

We all spent out last day on Berlinga Island, a tiny island off the coast of Portugal. At 2:00PM we caught a boat over the crazy seas. My dad and brother were desperate to try out the surfing while we were away but unfortunately the waves were never big enough, but typically we choice to get a boat over the ocean on a day where the waves are crazy. It was a very windy boat ride, ahahaha! But at least it was only a 20 – 30 minute ride.

When we got there none of us could believe it. It seemed as if people were on holiday there, with girls washing in the sea, a tiny beach, boat everywhere, it was a completely different culture and was very interesting!

First of all we walked to the castle on the other side of the island. It was right over the hills and down hundreds of steps. My mum, sister and I did not come prepared when we wore flip – flops and carried huge handbags. When we got there we had a look around, a quick drink before heading back to the little beach. I was desperate to go snorkelling.

Unfortunately, when my cousin, Jack and I went snorkelling we did not see many fish but we did climb into a cave. It had its own private beach inside but the waves were crashing in so heavily that I got scared.

If you are staying near Lisbon in Portugal I would recommend spending the day at Berlinga Island, it is a great experience and beautiful place.
