Date night on a Monday

THE HALFWAY HOUSE

Last night Solly and I spent the evening at a cute little pub on the way to Langport, Somerset. It was such a lush day we may as well of spent it out in the sun. Because I had been working all weekend, Sol and I never got a chance to spend anytime together, we haven’t really had a chance since I have been back from University tbh!! Sol works Monday to Friday, 8 in the morning to late, where as I work most evenings and all over the weekend, so fitting in time to see each other can be difficult.

Solly got a beef burger and I got a beef chilli. I am still trying to be healthy as I am going on holiday with my family to Portugal in less than 2 weeks so I need to get my Summer bod, haha!

In the morning I went to CrossFit with my brother and sister, then spent the whole day relaxing in the sun. It is the first day I have had off work since Tuesday so I was happy to spend it doing absolutely nothing. I even caught a tan!!

Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Monday!!

Somerset

My first year of University is over and I am home for the Summer. After a hectic week it is time to relax – I have been out a lot!

Today is my only day of before I start work again. I need to work full time for 3 weeks before I go on holiday to Portugal with my family, because straight afterward I am moving to London for a month and working for Firefly Media, how exciting!

With working at the pub, I also have a lot of gyming to do, it is time to get back into my home routine and I am excited.

I hope you are all enjoying the sun!

BU Summer Ball – Just a couple of eggs

SUBU Summer Ball – Bournemouth University

At the end of the year, Bournemouth University puts on a a Summer Ball which is more like a festival, where all the students dress up as anything they want and spend the whole day partying. This year the line up was not as good, last year they had Chase & Status and My Nu Leng! But this year they had MK, Friction and a couple other DJs. The whole event was put on amazingly, although it was quite small it was like a festival. They had lots of different dance tents including a Bestival, Foreverland and Apple Bum stage.

As you can see, myself and 4 other girls dressed up as eggs. It sounded like a good idea and we got a lot of compliments but it was absolutely boiling. By the time it got to me taking off my egg and wearing my Topshop glittery dress, I was so sweaty it didn’t look good, haha!

The whole day was absolutely amazing, the best send of to first year with all my friends – I couldn’t ask for a better group of people at University!

Roll on the rest of the Summer!!

MISS SUNSHINE

The Inferno – Bournemouth

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE

I had just finished my last presentation of the year, the sun was shining, so Katie and I thought it would be a nice idea to go for food and a cold drink before I got the sweaty train back home for the rest of the week. Katie is my flatmate and best friend!

I have decided to spend the rest of the week at home because I thought I would find it a lot easier to revise for my exam next Friday and I was missing Solly. I also was starting to feel really unfit so while I am home I can get back into CrossFit.

The Inferno is a cute little pub right next to my accommodation which I have been to for drink but not food. The outside is right on the street, with fake grass on the floor and colourful furniture. I wish I had discovered it early because it is so cute for the Summer days and is extremely cheap.

SAUDI ARABIA SNAP SHOTS | MY DADS HOME

THROUGH THE YEARS…

If you have been reading my blog for long, you will know that my Dad lives in Saudi Arabia. He moved there when I was in Year 10, so around 5 years and has lived there ever since. Due to my Dads job we have been given a lot of opportunities. Never would I of thought I would visit countries such as Dubai, America or even Saudi Arabia itself.

Saudi Arabia is a very different place to England and is completely out of the ordinary. The culture is a distant way of life due to their strong religion. Women must be covered head to toe in an abaya robe, they weren’t allowed to drive – but this rule is slowly being lifted and if you get caught with any sort of drug/alcohol you would be punished. So yes, when my family visited Saudi for the first time it was a bit scary.

Thankfully, my Dad lives on an English compound where people are able to live by their own rules. It is next to an American school so is filled with children and teenagers which you definitely notice on the weekends (Thursdays and Fridays.) On the compound theres 3 pools, a gym, Burger King, Sports Direct, it is just like a normal holiday.

I would love to visit Saudi again but I don’t think it would be for a while, as I am in University it is hard to find a time when we can all go as a family. In 2017 my family went without me!

I hope you like this post, if any of you have visited Saudi before or have any other stories I would love to know more about it!
