a weekend in hollands wood, new forest

Camping in the New Forest, Dorset

I would massively recommend a weekend away at the New Forest. It is very relaxing and a lot of fun. The place is filled with horses, on the first morning a shetland pony came charging at us for our food! Although there is not that much to do around us bar cycling and long walks it is a very pretty area. I would go back again!

Bag – SHEIN (buy here)

Solly and I were not able to go on a holiday this year due to him being super busy with work and us both having so many other things planned, so we thought we should spend a weekend in a tent instead. We have now both spent 2 weekends in a row in a tent, the first weekend being in a smelly, muddy field with lots of other people to the second weekend doing it properly. We borrowed my mums Glastonbury Festival tent that has one pod with a huge middle bit to keep all of our stuff in. We bought a gas cooker to make ourselves cups of tea and breakfast every morning, I stocked us up on food and beer and made our sleeping area extremely snug.

Weekend In Bournemouth

Weekend in Watford

On Friday evening Sol did not finish work until 6:30PM so we did not get to the campsite until it was pitch black. Putting the tent up in the dark was a struggle, especially when we had people taking the micky out of us when they walked passed.

On Saturday we had a long morning, relaxing outside the tent and trying to figure out how to cook some sausages without burning them. In the afternoon we went to Hurst Castle which is Henry VIII castle, a prison of Charles and a World War 2 theatre. To get to it we either had to get a ferry or walk for a couple miles along the sea front. Stupidly we decided to walk, forgetting how windy it would be being right by the seaside, but when we got there we were glad we visited. Solly loves things like this.

In the evening we went for dinner at The Snake Catcher which was not amazing. I got whitebait to start and before I had even finished they bought out my burger. It seemed like they were in a massive rush, but I did hear that they had been packed all day. On Sunday we went to Christchurch Harbour which I loved!! It was so cute, people were crabbing, paddle boarding and it was filled with lots of boats. Thankfully it was actually sunny so we were able to sit on the rocks and eat fish and chips.

I am getting my disposable cameras printed of today and I can not wait to share with you the craziness of Boomtown, bits of London and some cute pictures from camping. Disposable camera photos are my favourite, they look so nice when they are printed out. Was thinking of carrying one around all the time so I can hang the photos up in my University room!

BOOMTOWN 2018

It is currently the Wednesday after Boomtown and I am sat on my bed trying to recover. I feel like I have so much to do but my brain will not let me, the Boomtown blues are real. This is the only festival I have this year and it makes me so sad that I have to wait for such a long time for another. These are the only photographs I got on my phone through the whole weekend as I spent most of my time taking videos and trying to fill up my disposable cameras.

This weekend Solly and I are going camping so I am trying to organise all of our stuff to make it perfect. I hope the weather get better!! Today I will get half of my disposables printed and I can’t wait. I feel like I have so much going on the next couple of weeks. Camping, BBQ and birthdays, Malaga, my boyfriends birthday, visiting London again and then the move back to University. I am trying to write lots of lists to make sure everything gets done.

Happy Wednesday everybody!

City of Love

J’adore Paris – 35mm

Around 3 years ago my cousins and I spent a couple nights in Paris. We ate, we drank and visited every sight there is to the point our feet were in pieces. For some stupid reason I wore high heels on the day we visited the Eiffel Tower and by the end my feet were in 2, I do not wear high heels and I don’t think I ever have since. My mum booked this trip to Paris for us and placed us in the gay capital of Paris so going out in the evenings was hilarious. We met the funniest people while sat drinking funky cocktails.

I used a 35mm lens camera to take thee photos and they came out amazing. I love the look of disposable cameras and this is just a better quality version. It made the whole trip look extremely vintage and old fashion which is the style I love. I haven’t used this camera since because I just have to found an occasion. There is so much technology these days, when i go abroad I would be taking 3 cameras.

Paris is definitely somewhere I would visit again but there are a lot more city breaks that I want to do first including Berlin, Dublin, Amsterdam, Rome and I would definitely rush back to Barcelona first!!

I am currently getting all my outfits together for Boomtown on Thursday, how exciting!! Typical that the weather had done a complete 1-80, now its meant to be raining this weekend.

Never been to Notting Hill

Dress – TopShop

This is literally my favourite dress at the moment, it was a very spontaneous buy and different to what I would normally wear as I don’t think I have ever owned anything orange because of my blonde hair. But it works so I would recommend!!

Saturday 21st July

On Saturday my best friend Katie – KT – from University came to visit me in London. She only lives in Gatwick so it is not far for her so she had to come to London for the day while I was here!

I decided we should go to Notting Hill as neither of us had been there before and I heard it is a very funky place. When we got off the underground at Notting Hill station we were so confused. I kind of assumed that when we got there the market would be on our doorstep but I was completely wrong. We found a farmers market and I just assumed that this is all there was, so we stopped at had an early lunch at Zizzis – not very adventurous of us.

We were sat there for quite a long time because we had sooooooo much to catch up on. You have probably seen KT on my blog before on my blog but she is my flat mate from University and we had not seen each other for around 2 months. Going from seeing each other to not seeing each other at all meant we had too much to talk about, but you will definitely be seeing more of her on here very soon.

Before we were about to get the Underground to Chelsea to go ‘Made in Chelsea’ star spotting, I suggested that we just walk a bit further past the station and see what we find. LUCKILY, us venturing out meant we found the huge market and it was so much fun. As you can see from the pictures Notting Hill is filled with flowers, colour and pretty houses.

After walking right to the end of the market (there are a lot of stores) we thought it was best to start making our way to a station to get to Chelsea. Little did we know… that a lot of the stations shut between 2:00PM – 5:30PM on a Saturday and a Sunday to stop traffic – LONDONERS PLEASE TAKE THIS IN!! So after walking miles, we just decided to get a bus to Camden. By the time we had settled down it was time for KT to go back home 😦

Sorry I have been a bit MIA, been super busy trying to make the most of my time in London with friends, my cousins and just making sure I explore!

The beginning of the Summer…

If you have followed my blog for a while you would know that I make little videos of everything I do. I have had absolutely no motivation to make any at the moment but finally picked myself up and put together a ‘Beginning of the Summer’ video, more like a Spring 2018 video to be honest! These are all videos from January to May, including the BU Summer Ball, University fun, Love Saves the Day, a weekend in Bath, Bristol and a lot more.

Hopefully throughout the Summer I will be making a lot more, let me know if you like it!

Paddle boarding, kaiaking & my favourite Summer scent

Thursday 28th June

On Thursday we had a very lazy morning and then spent the whole afternoon at The Lagoon (a salt water lake), this is what our view is of when we look out over our balcony. My brother, sister, cousin and I did paddle boarding but my auntie, uncle, mum and dad did kaiaking. The wind was so so strong that Alice and I were not strong enough to move through the current. We would look back at the hut where we hired the boards and hadn’t moved anywhere, ahah! We started to get so frustrated, that dad and mum pulled us along on their kaike. We felt like royalty, haha!

In the evening, Alice and I cooked for everyone (well we cooked the bolognese and mum made the spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, haha!) This was while everybody was watching the football.

Victoria Secret – Water Blooms & Amber Romance

When my Dad is coming home from Saudi, he picks up a Victoria Secret spray for Alice, Mum and I. This time he got me a different flavour which I love!! I am also a bit obsessed with my Mums.

At the moment I am using the Amber Romance and Mum is using Water Blooms – this one smells very fresh!

A beautiful day for a beautiful beach

Tuesday 26th June

We travelled to a different beach that my Dad found on google maps and it was beautiful. So old, filled with lots of pretty houses and a very clear sea. My cousin Kieran, Jack and I went paddle boarding and my uncle caught the best photographs, ahha! This won’t be the last time we are going to try paddle boarding this holiday. This beach is  called Sao Marinho Do Porto.

Pictures of us paddle boarding, haha! As you can see I was not the best but practice makes perfect.

After a full day in the sun shine we went for a nice drink at a brand new restaurant just around the corner, on the sea front. We are going to head back there for dinner one evening before we go home, as the owner seemed lovely!

On our drive home we found a fruit and vegetable stand on the side of the road, so we stopped off to check it out. We picked up half of a massive watermelon and a box of strawberries!!

Playsuit – ASOS

This was an exciting second day!!

Flower power & Pina coladas

Sunday 24th July

We woke up extremely early (4:00AM) to make our way to Bristol airport, where my family and I flew Lisbon, Portugal. Our villa is in North Lisbon, in a place called Foz do Arelho. We are surrounded by pretty houses, a unique beach and lots of farming. My parents really don’t like staying in places filled with tourists, as they have travelled a lot in their lives.

When we first got it here it was not what my sister, brother and I expected. The weather was not nice at all and every restaurant has fish based food as this is the fishing capital of Portugal.

Monday 25th June

After having a good night sleep we felt a lot better. I only had 7 hours sleep in 3 days, so my mood was getting worse and worse, but the next day we woke up and travelled to a different beach. It was called Peniche and the sun finally came out!! It came out so much to the point we all came home with the weirdest patches of burnt skin.

That evening Portugal were playing football, so we travelled down to the beach next to us to grab some dinner and watch it on the TV.

Instead we ended up in a beautiful Hawaiian themed restaurant called Ala Norte and drank our body weight in Pina Coladas. The sun was finally out in Foz do Arelho so we had an amazing view looking over the sea.

My Dress: Brandy Melville

My mums dress: Urban Outfitters (I will defiantly be stealing it over the Summer!!)

This holiday is a very action packed. We have been getting up in the morning, doing a workout, eating a big breakfast and then spending the afternoon exploring different beaches.

BodyShop Summer Favourites

img_2443img_2444

As you all have probably noticed, I get extremely dry skin, so a body exfoliator is an essential and there are 2 I am loving at the moment. The smell of coconut is my favourite Summer scent and Bodyshop create it perfectly. These 2 products are amazing to use together! Exfoliate while you are in the shower or bath and then apply the body moisturiser after, it leaves your skin feeling amazing for a good few days.

Coconut Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub –  The 50ml pot is only £6!! How amazing, you can have smooth skin on a budget.

Coconut Nourishing Body ButterAgain, you can buy a 50ml pot for £6 and it lasts long enough. The pot in the photo is 200ml but you can also buy a 400ml pot if you really like the product.

This photo is edited on an app called R4VE which I found. You can apply funky backgrounds and make photo collages of your photos.

BU Summer Ball – Just a couple of eggs

SUBU Summer Ball – Bournemouth University

At the end of the year, Bournemouth University puts on a a Summer Ball which is more like a festival, where all the students dress up as anything they want and spend the whole day partying. This year the line up was not as good, last year they had Chase & Status and My Nu Leng! But this year they had MK, Friction and a couple other DJs. The whole event was put on amazingly, although it was quite small it was like a festival. They had lots of different dance tents including a Bestival, Foreverland and Apple Bum stage.

As you can see, myself and 4 other girls dressed up as eggs. It sounded like a good idea and we got a lot of compliments but it was absolutely boiling. By the time it got to me taking off my egg and wearing my Topshop glittery dress, I was so sweaty it didn’t look good, haha!

The whole day was absolutely amazing, the best send of to first year with all my friends – I couldn’t ask for a better group of people at University!

Roll on the rest of the Summer!!
